The new version of the review windows for avast is clean and tidy, with sections for each tool of the suite. However, the large amount of white space has also caused some features to be hidden. The homepage offers you quick shortcuts to run scans or turn on the VPN, for example as well as links to a few less-than-util tools for optimizing your system but the majority of the features of the program are hidden in the Explore tab. Installation is smooth and easy and you’re not forced into a subscription upgrade, although the initial scan will show “advanced issues” that can only be addressed with a premium membership.
